Your habits are the biggest indicator of a healthy life.
A bit of my story:
I grew up like most kids in the 60′s- we were given to many antibiotics, ate ring dings, captain crunch, lucky charms, bacon, eggs and drank gallons of milk from those fun dispensers with the spout. Before the use of hydrogenated oils and factory farming those foods actually were healthier. Thank goodness.
During my formative years I was blessed to travel with my mother and a herd of people seeking something outside of the box-we lived on beautiful mountaintops with the clothes on our backs and a very small suitcase. We sold our belongings, (record number of garage sales), rented our house and set out to experience the world. We traveled, lived with friends, studied at Maharishi International University, came back to Ct, traveled again and so it went for years. Addicted to the promise of enlightenment or ‘cosmic consciousness’ we sat in meditation like junkies promised a permanent fix-oxygen our drug of choice.
Stays in California and Switzerland exposed me to ‘out of the box’ ways of eating and my mind was never sharper. I worked in a hotel kitchen in Arosa Switzerland, (our ashram community took it over), and learned to respect freshly prepared food. We lived in Santa Barbara California and I was hooked on fresh glorious local food. The body, mind, spirit thrive on healthy food; it was and is a necessary tool to live well.
I understand what it takes to run a business, raise a family, juggle life. Middle age has its pirks and one is hindsight with a splash of wisdom and the know-how to get the seemingly insurmountable accomplished. I help clients create sustainable change. Small habits consistently repeated contribute to health or disease; nourishing habits. As the saying goes “take one step at a time”. My cleanse design provides an abundance of whole foods to reboot your system and get you in sync with great energy each day.
Worthwile ventures take energy, enthusiasm and desire. To make our life a work of art, to be present, productive for our family, work, hobbies requires a ton of energy. Are you there now? Do you sleep straight through the night and wake up feeling rested ready to go? Food choices contribute to sleep disorders, moodiness, bloating, eczema, diabetes, acne, high blood pressure, risk of cancer…you get the picture. It significantly effects our lives. Our body is home, our vehicle for life- is your vehicle running optimally?
Health has very little to do with numbers on a scale, there are as many unhealthy skinny people as overweight healthy people. What kind of cells are you creating? We, you and I, are responsible for our quality of health. Take inventory of your daily habits because they increase your odds of embodying disease. Our world is filled with good hard working people that sacrifice their health for all sorts of justifiable reasons. I’ve heard all of the excuses and have compassion around the difficulties inherent in changing daily habits and yet~ you can create better health one meal at a time.
Mountaintops are a worthy trek, money is sure nice but without our health we’re dust. What exactly are you waiting for?
